LADD/ACDG Star In Aerosmith Video! And Some Of Our Other Fave Derby Music Vids…

Ah, to be a skater in Los Angeles! Veterans of the LA Derby Dolls and Angel City Derby Girls have long been fodder and stunt doubles for episodic television, tv commercials and music videos. This week, you might recognize some faces in this music video, by what is surely the most commerically successful (“mainstream”) band to date to feature derby skaters in a video:

Congrats LA skaters! This got us thinking about some of our all time favorite videos featuring derby and derby skaters. Almost every league, at some point, gets asked to be the subject of a “documentary” or part of some local band’s music video. Some bands and videos are just more exciting than others…

For instance, here’s one that made a whole lot of us jealous of LA skaters!

But LA skaters are not the only lucky ones! Thanks to a bit of fangirl stalking on the part of one Joanie Rollmoan, Arch Rival Roller Girls starred in this video for The Breeders ‘Fate To Fatal’ (“ZOMG KIM AND KELLEY DEAL< I DIE!!!" -Mercy Less) that makes some of us drool:

Some very well known faces from Windy City Rollers grace the screen in this vid:

Rose City gets their turn in this one, notably not a rock anthem of any kind:

Here’s one we love from New Zealand featuring Pirate City, the Southern Hemisphere’s first roller derby league:

The Jersey Shore Girls get metal in Halestorm’s derby vid:

…and for a completely different take, Cincinnati Roller Girls are featured in this Soul Train inspired music video:
