Derby Media Roundup 2/25/13

With so much great coverage of the sport happening, we thought we’d highlight some of the biggest and/or best instances of roller derby in the media.

Miss Anthrope from Central Maine Derby writes about how derby saved her life (not just her soul) for the Bangor Daily News.

The Miami Herald profiles Danielle Shaffner and Miami’s Vice City Rollers.

CBS Denver interviewed Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere (aka Triple Shot Misto and Fiona Grapple) from Rocky Mountain Rollergirls about their roles on The Amazing Race.

Kathie Lee and Hoda from The Today Show tried getting on skates with the LA Derby Dolls. Look for “By Day” at 0:02.

From a while ago, the Wall Street Journal did an excellent piece on roller derby.
