Introducing The Afterparty

Over three years ago, when we came up with the idea for this site, we imagined it being a place where derby lovers of all sorts could connect, commiserate, make friends, and share their experiences of this crazy sport we all spend so much time on. I always envisioned us creating ways for derby folks to connect directly with each other.

I’m thrilled to announce that as of today, thanks to incredible work by Lex Talionis, Fox Sake, and a team of beta testers, Derbylife will be hosting The Afterparty. What’s that, you ask?

The Afterparty is a new forum that we have built to create a new hub for discussion of all things derby for skaters, officials and fans from all over the world. As Facebook and league forums have fractured discussions, we feel that something has been lost, and we wanted to bring that back and give everyone a place to discuss derby with friends old and new from across the derbyverse.

Just like real-world afterparties, this will be a place to meet your rivals, find new derby soul mates, share advice and laundry tips, gossip, talk gear and strategy, get info about upcoming events in the derby world-whatever interests you.

You can access The Afterparty by clicking here, then signing up-it’s a separate login to the site. As well as just filling in your own info, you can also use your Facebook, Twitter, or Google IDs to sign in. There are some explanations of how everything works on the site itself, but if you have any questions or problems, feel free to email [email protected].
