Meet Team Scotland: Mo B Quick

Name: Mo B Quick

League Affiliation: Auld Reekie Roller Girls

Years Skating: 2.5yrs

DL: What was your previous athletic background, if any?

MBQ: I did Capoeira for a few years. Not much else though, unless you count various types of dancing (including Irish!) as a child.

DL: Why did you want to be on Team Scotland?

MBQ: To go and be part of derby history with skaters I admire massively, to use it as an opportunity to develop as a skater and represent my country.

DL: How did you feel when you found out you had made it as one of the final 20?

MBQ: Proud and a wee bit nervous!

DL: Which skater inspires you most, and why?

MBQ: This is going to sound really cheesy but as much as I look up to a lot of the best skaters in derby, it's the ones closer to home who start off like Bambi on ice and just keep working until they get good. Their determination inspires me to keep working hard.

DL: Do you have any advice for skaters just starting out?

MBQ: Keep coming to practice, even when you can't really be bothered, keep picking yourself up and trying again even when you think you'll never get there, and watch/listen to experienced skaters but don't compare yourself to them.
