Update: Runoff for 2012 Photo of the Year (with category winners).

We received hundreds of photos for our 2012 photo contest, and it was tough to narrow it down! We've finally managed to pick ten finalists in each category. Over the next two weeks, you'll have a chance to vote for your favorites in each of our categories. You must be logged into the site to vote.

Did you guys send out emails acknowledging that nominations were received? I never heard anything back.

Due to the volume of submissions we received, that wasn't possible. We narrowed down the received photos into 10 finalists in each category.

...but I really wish you didn't label the photos with the photographer's name.

I understand the need to give credit to the photographers, but at the same time it turns this into a popularity contest rather than a photo contest.
