2012 Derbylife Photography Contest

It's that time again! We'd like to recognize all the fantastic talented photographers out there making us derby players, refs, and support staff shine and preserving this moment in time for posterity. We can't wait to see all the incredible photographs of 2012 derby action.

This year's categories are:

Best Hit
Best Jammer Action
Best Moment of Zen
Best Embodiment of Team Spirit
Best Stare Down
Best Derby Ambiance

We'll have a run-off among the winners of each category to determine the 2012 Derbylife Photo of the Year.

This year, we're only accepting email submissions. You can submit photos by multiple photographers but please only include one category's worth of photos in each email. Send them to [email protected] with the subject line "Photo Contest: Category Name" so we know where it goes. Please include the photographer's name (and contact information if you have it) and your name as well. Photos should be jpgs at least 1000 pixels wide, but no more than 2 mb. Watermarked or not watermarked is OK.

We'll accept photo submissions from now until midnight on December 31st.

Fine Print (squint so it looks small!): You don't have to be the photographer, but please get permission from the photographer to submit the photo. Photographers retain all rights to their photos--the only right Derbylife requests is the non-exclusive right to publish the photo online (with credit to the photographer).
