It's the hometeam championship trophy for the CT RollerGirls. Each year it is given to the winning hometeam to hold onto until the following year's championships. And yea, we all love "A Christmas Story." :)
Sorry we didn't get back to you on time. I hope you submitted your photos anyway. If you sent them by midnight anywhere in the world, that's fine with us.
Can't wait to see all the great photos that were submitted!
Suzy, you are a badass. And a pretty damn good writer, for an "antique" derby skater, lol. I do not skate....in fact, I look a bit like Bambi on ice. But, I still look up to you and all the other skaters that have transformed derby into what it is today. I look forward to seeing you at RollerCon 2013. :)
the points being made by everyone here. I'm on the fence with my own name, in fact.... I'm the girlfriend of a derby girl, and my name is in reference to hers. Yes, it's suggestive, but not overt. I laugh at some of the gross names out there (sorry... Buster Muffinhalf made me giggle), but if this sport is going to be an Olympic event, on national television, with little children watching and aspiring to be like their favorite skater or ref, then maybe the names should be at least PG-13. There's a time and place for everything, and yes, even the gross names have their moments of glory. I don't think the gender-violent names, regardless of which gender is in violation are ever appropriate, and maybe that's just me being a stick in the mud. But if I went around with the name "Dick Decker", would that be funny or wrong?
And it actually lights up!
That's Black Cherry #C4 representing CTRG's hometeam champions, the Iron Angels, at the final home team game of 2012. Cherry is also one of the 2012 New England All Stars!!! http://www.examiner.com/article/2012-new-england-all-stars-black-cherry-...
It was also constructed by one Mr. Johnny Holeshot of the CT Death Quads because he is both a crafty jammer and crafty dude!

I'm assuming this has to do with the "Leg Lamp" from the movie A Christmas Story - http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/index.php/a-christmas-story-movie-fa...
If so, it's hilarious!
We're going to run voting for the categories soon!
When are you announcing the winners?
All good points.
